I gotta tell you this unbelievable story:
There is this lady trying to extort my DVD from me in exchange for posting her pictures on my website. Even though I have never bartered, paid, or promised anything to anyone (including her) in exchange for posting pictures on my site, this woman has convinced herself that her pictures are SO SPECIAL that surely she deserves a free DVD.
If you don't believe that, you also won't believe that she has threatened to sue me in Small Claims Court based on a verbal agreement we never had and damages she never sustained! All because she doesn't want to pay $29.95 for my DVD! I guess I should be flattered that she wants my DVD so bad. What do you think?

We have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string that we have and this string is, Attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. Kudos Monique for handling this absurd accusation w/ such poise and grace. As one of your regular clientel, I can say with certainty that you are a business women who's true to her word as well as generously putting the well being of your clients as first priority. Hopefully this customer can swallow a piece of humble pie and apologize for such nonsense.
Sincerely,
Missy Bailey

Ok, who?, what?,when?,where? and how? did u meet this crazy woman. I wish I had something she wanted so bad so I can get some free publicity and encourgement. Now all you need is a restraining order, lol.........be encouraged, maybe the sales will rise
I say, give her the DVD and call it a day. Not out of fear re: the suing issue...just to be generous and to show her the power of kindness. You know? Sheesh...sillyness.

Thats CRAZY!!! How do you even go about proving a verbal agreement? What judge in their right mind would even that this case on? Certainly her energy could be better served on something else????? RmJ
Monique! My gosh, some people are so unbelievable. It's such a shame that some people stoop so low, and take advantage of good people like you. I'm sorry your dealing with such an insane person. Good luck, I know it will work out in your favor.
God bless,
Deanna Tat :)
Awwww Mo....this is truly a compliment! Two things come to my mind when I read this (besides a quick hint of laughter). I think you're SO talented and your work is so great that you just made her look too beautiful! Maybe it might have went to her head which swelled (ego), and that's perhaps how she confused what did and what did not actually happen with the ins and outs of the "contractual agreement!" The other thing that comes to mind is any time you're doing a great service or you have a great product, something or someone has got to come along to create chaos, you know, to have a little piece of the pie for themselves. The way I see it is "free publicity" for you. People are bound to want to flock to check out what the fuss is all about "cuz Mo's Makeup Assignment DVD must be all that...and not to mention the make-over itself!" Girl, keep doing your thing and enjoy your blessings. I'm proud of you!!

OK, so as childish as this may seem I think the lady needs to step off. There was no written agreement and sounds like there wasn't a verbal agreement either. It's great she wants the video and all, but if she's making this big of a stink to get it then how does Monique know she's not going to pirate it? Sounds fishy to me. If this woman feels like she has that much time on her hands to take someone to small claims for 29.95 she's just looking for some attention... because she's apparently not getting it at home. I think Monique should stick to her guns. Who knows what would happen if Monique did give the video to her.
P.S. Monique, I think you should take down the pics of this woman if you haven't already. She doesn't deserve to be on your site.
I like your makeover pictures- wow very impressive!
Just wanted to add that I review books and do ask publishers for "preview copies" and usually get them.
If I don't, I'm not as likely to write about them in my blog-unless I'm really motivated!
I know online a lot fo people will try and get free DVDs or books, makeup...whatever just so they can blog and write about it.
Not saying that is entirely right or wrong.
But no one needs to be a phsycho just because they did not get something for free!
